Travis is a registered arts therapist with the Australian, New Zealand and Asian Creative Arts Therapies Association (ANZACATA) and a certified teacher from China. As an expressive art therapist, Travis focuses on integrating helping skills with various art forms including music, visual arts and drama to support children and adolescents with different abilities and social emotional challenges. His practice can be described as relational and creative-based, evidence-informed, process-oriented, and deeply rooted in a person-centered approach. Before joining ELG, Travis worked as an undergraduate instructor in the school of Child and Youth Care at the University of Victoria while pursuing his PhD there. Travis’ professional experience also extends to being an educator, teacher trainer, research coordinator and arts therapist within various educational, clinical and community-based settings in Canada, Beijing and Hong Kong. At ELG, Travis brings his unique expertise and creative approach to our dynamic team to engage and support even more children and families.
