Last Thursday evening (November 21, 2019), a group of like-minded individuals came together to exchange ideas, make new friends and connect over the meaningful work they do – such fun, and all over a delicious tapas spread! This was ELG’s annual Student Support Networking Event held at the cozy upstairs venue of Cotton’s, Xinhua Road.

Scroll down for some happy moments of this fun networking evening!

Attendees engaged in meaningful networking as part of our ice-breaker activity, to find similarities with one another.

Our first attendee to complete the ice-breaker activity! Well done!

“Looks good, tastes even better!” Attendees were treated to a delicious tapas spread put on by the Cotton’s team.

During the evening there was time for reflection on our role as student support professionals in this community. One attendee recognized the wide range of people supporting individuals and families with special needs, and the importance of coming together as a community, to support each other in this important yet often challenging role – “It takes a village!” We completely agree.

ELG’s Service Director, Kimberley McKenna, welcomed guests and introduced her team of specialists and ELG’s client support team present that evening.

Our behavior and feeding specialist, Katie Philcox, lead the night’s group activity and announced to a group of eager listeners the launch of ELG’s upcoming social skills groups!

The event provided attendees with a chance to meet other professionals; to connect, collaborate and share resources for the common goal of student support.

We would especially like to thank Ms. Cotton Ding and her wonderful team for helping us make our networking evening a great success.

Once more, we would like to thank all who attended this special evening, for spending their Thursday evening with us and making ELG their choice in supporting their children, families and schools.

To all learning support teachers, school counselors and any others working in student support field out there – thank you for what do and keep up the great work!
