Yi Wei, a licensed professional counselor and registered art therapist, received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She is a professional member of the American Art Therapy Association, as well as ANZACATA (The Australian, New Zealand, and Asian Creative Arts Therapies Association). Before joining ELG, Wei Yi worked as an art therapist in the US and holds LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) licensure from the state of Illinois. She completed internships with various populations in multiple settings, including individuals with developmental disorders, older adults, and rehab patients. As ELG’s art therapist, Wei Yi focuses on integrating coping skills into art-making to support children and their families facing emotional difficulties and various challenges. She firmly believes in the full potential of each individual and considers the relationship built with the children as the key factor to a successful session.
