Dr. Sun is a registered psychologist with the Chinese Psychological Society (X-22-072) and serves as the 2020-2022 Vice President for Education and Training with the Association of Chinese Helping Professionals and Psychologists–International (ACHPPI). Specializing in pediatric clinical psychology, Dr. Sun has been working closely with young children with special needs and mental health needs since 2011 in various community and hospital settings. Trained in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) and family therapy, Dr Sun is particularly experienced in taking an integrated approach in working with emotional dysregulation, mood disorders, behavioral management, and parent training. Furthermore, she is a certified assessor for Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths (CANS), Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children, Fourth Edition, Chinese Edition (WISC-IV-CH), Griffith Development Scale (GDS), and Adaptive Behavior Assessment System (ABAS-II) examiner and intervener for Video-Feedback Intervention to Promote Positive Parenting and Sensitive Discipline (VIPP-SD). Having received systematic and rigorous training in pediatric assessments, Dr. Sun is particularly experienced in providing neuropsychological and ed-psych assessments for children and adolescents. Dr. Sun’s background in cognitive and neuropsychological assessment, developmental and educational psychology, and positive parenting is a perfect fit for her community-wide responsibilities at ELG. Dr. Sun believes that every child deserves a bright future and is devoted to helping them reach their fullest potential.
